Set up video questions for an interview
Video Questions allow you to assess a candidate’s communication skills, thought process, and confidence before or during the interview process.
Steps to set up a video question

Go to Tools → Assessment
- Navigate to Tools, then click Assessment.

Open Manage Questions
- Choose an existing assessment or create a new one.
- Click the Manage Questions tab.

Click Add Question
- You’ll be prompted to select the question type and input details.

Choose the question type Video Question
- From the type dropdown, select Video Question.

Enter the question content

Type your question in the text field.
- Example: “Tell us about a challenging project you led.”

Type your question in the text field.

Set a time limit for the response
- Specify how many seconds/minutes the candidate has to record their video response.

Save the question
- Click Save, and the question becomes part of your assessment.

Assign the assessment to a candidate
- When the test is shared, candidates will see a video recording prompt for that question.
📹 Best practice: Keep video questions between 1–3 minutes and clearly state what you expect the candidate to answer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I create video-type questions for assessments?
Yes. When adding a question in the Manage Questions section of an assessment:
- Choose the Video Question type.
- Set time limits and instructions.
Candidates will record and upload video responses.
