Understanding and Setting Up Data Permissions

May 28, 2025

Data permissions allow organizations to control who can access and modify specific types of information in the Hiring Bull portal. This is critical for maintaining privacy and data compliance.

  1. Navigate to Data Permissions
    • Go to Settings > Data Permissions in the admin panel.
  2. Understand the Three Data Categories
    • General: Publicly accessible data (e.g., name, designation).
    • Sensitive: Moderately protected data (e.g., email ID, past employers).
    • Highly Sensitive: Confidential information (e.g., CTC, identification numbers).
  3. Classify Data Fields
    • Use drag-and-drop functionality to place data fields under the appropriate category.
    • Example:
      • Move "CTC" to Highly Sensitive.
      • Move "Resume" to Sensitive.
  4. Set Role-Based Access Permissions
    • Scroll to the top of the page after classification.
    • For each user role (e.g., Interviewer, Recruiter, Admin):
      • Set whether they can View or Edit each category of data.
      • Use checkboxes for enabling/disabling permissions.
  5. Examples of Use Cases
    • Interviewers can only view General data.
    • Recruiters can view and edit General and Sensitive data.
    • Admins can view and edit all categories including Highly Sensitive.
  6. Save Configuration
    • After assigning permissions to each role, click Save.
    • Changes take effect immediately and help maintain data integrity and access control.
