Methods of Adding a Candidate to a Job

May 28, 2025

Hiring Bull supports multiple ways to bring candidates into a job pipeline. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Manual Entry

  • Navigate to Job → Candidates → Add Candidate.
  • Enter candidate info manually (basic details, resume, source).
  • Useful for walk-ins or phone referrals.

2. Resume Upload

  • Upload a resume file (PDF/DOC).
  • The system auto-parses and populates fields (name, email, experience, etc.).
  • Edit/fill missing fields before saving.

3. CSV Bulk Upload

  • Go to Candidates tab → Upload CSV.
  • Download the sample format.
  • Fill candidate data and upload.
  • The system will auto-create profiles and assign to the selected job.

4. Email Parsing

  • Forward resumes to a configured Hiring Bull email (e.g., jobs@yourcompany.com).
  • Parsed candidates will appear under “Pending Resumes” for assignment.

5. Vendor Submission

  • Vendors with access can upload resumes directly via their portal login.
  • You can review, accept, or reject their submissions.
  • Permissions can be controlled per job.

6. Career Page / Job Boards (Auto-import)

  • Candidates applying via your career page or integrated job boards are auto-assigned to the linked job.
  • Parsed resumes and data flow into the job pipeline.

📌 Recommendation:

Use resume upload and email parsing for quick one-off additions, while CSV and vendor submission work best for volume-based hiring.
