Understanding Job Status Categories

Hiring Bull classifies jobs into different status categories to help recruiters and hiring managers clearly distinguish between active, internal, and completed positions.


Job Status Types Explained:

Published

  • The job is live and visible on:
    • Your company’s career page
    • Integrated job boards (LinkedIn, Naukri, etc.)
    • Public-facing APIs (if configured)
  • Accepts applications from candidates
  • Typically used for external hiring

Internal

  • The job is not publicly listed
  • Only visible to:
    • Logged-in users (employees)
    • Referral sources (if enabled)
  • Common use cases:
    • Internal transfers
    • Department-specific hiring
    • Confidential roles

Archived

  • The job is closed or completed
  • No longer accepts applications
  • Still accessible for:
    • Reporting
    • Audit logs
    • Reviewing past hiring data
  • Cannot be edited or re-opened directly (use "Clone" if re-hiring)

Where to View Job Status:

  • Jobs → Filter by “Published”, “Internal”, or “Archived” on the top right or left-hand panel
