Setting up system notifications ensures that the right stakeholders are promptly informed about key hiring activities. This helps streamline communication, improve response time, and keep processes transparent across departments.

Use Cases:

  • Notify recruiters when a candidate applies or is moved to the next stage.
  • Alert hiring managers when interview feedback is submitted.
  • Inform admins when a job is published or closed.

Steps to Configure System Notifications:

  1. Log in to Hiring Bull with Admin access.
  2. Navigate to: Settings → Notifications
  3. Choose the System Event(s) to Trigger Alerts:
    • Examples of trigger events:
      • Candidate Applied
      • Candidate Moved to Interview Stage
      • Offer Released or Accepted
      • Job Created, Published, or Closed
      • Interview Scheduled or Rescheduled
      • Feedback Submitted
  4. Select Notification Type:
    • Email Alerts: Users receive an email when the event occurs.
    • (If supported by your plan, also check for In-app or SMS notifications.)
  5. Add Notification Recipients:
    • You can:
      • Select individual users from your Hiring Bull user list.
      • Enter external email addresses (if applicable).
      • Choose user roles (e.g., All Recruiters, Assigned Hiring Manager).
  6. Enable or Disable Notifications:
    • Toggle each notification ON or OFF depending on whether you want it active.
    • This allows fine-grained control over who receives what and when.
  7. Click “Save” to apply the notification settings.

Tips:

  • Use clear email subject lines in notifications to help users identify the purpose quickly.
  • Review and update notification preferences regularly as team roles change.
  • Ensure added recipients have valid email addresses and active roles in the platform.
