Merging duplicate candidate profiles helps keep your database clean and ensures all related information is consolidated in one place. Follow the steps below to merge multiple candidates in the Hiring Bull Portal.
Step 1: Search and Select Candidates
- Use the search bar to find the candidates you want to merge.
- Select the checkboxes next to each candidate you wish to merge.
- Click the Merge button at the bottom of the list.
Note: You must select more than one candidate to access the merge page.
Step 2: Review and Configure the Final Profile
On the merge page:
- You'll see a list of the selected candidates side-by-side.
- A final profile section will appear where you can define the final candidate data.
- For each field (e.g., name, email, phone), choose the version you want to keep in the final profile by selecting it from the respective candidate's column.
Step 3: Choose the Merge Mode
There are two available merge options. Choose the one that suits your use case:
1. One Candidate, One Candidature
- All selected candidatures will be merged into a single candidature under one candidate profile.
- Documents, comments, onboarding details, and interview records linked to the target candidature will be retained.
- This is best when multiple entries refer to the same role or application.
2. One Candidate, Multiple Candidatures
- All selected candidatures will be linked to a single candidate but will remain as separate candidatures.
- None of the candidature-related data will be changed or merged.
- Ideal when the candidate has applied to multiple jobs.
Step 4: Finalize the Merge
- After selecting the preferred fields and merge mode, click on the Merge button.
- The candidates will be merged based on your selection.
Step 5: View the Merged Candidate History
- Once the merge is complete, you’ll be redirected to the Candidate History page.
- Here, you can view all candidatures associated with the merged candidate profile.
By using the merge feature correctly, you can maintain an organized and accurate candidate database, reducing redundancy and improving your hiring workflow.
